Rebecca Lynne Johnson - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

November 13, 1966 - November 27, 2023

Rebecca Lynne Johnson "Becky", age 57, of Richfield, passed away suddenly on November 27, 2023. Her kind and generous spirit will be deeply missed by many. She is survived by her son, Andrew; her parents, Quentin and Leola Johnson; sisters, Lisa Williams (Darrell), Roberta Reed (Dale), and LeAnn Snow (John); nephews Ben Reed, Jordan Reed (Emily), Tyler Williams, Michael Williams, and many other relatives and friends.

Becky was born in Richfield Minnesota, and attended Elliot elementary school, East Junior High School and Richfield High School. She graduated from high school in 1985. While in high school she participated in gymnastics and volleyball, and played French horn in the band. She also enjoyed working at Roith’s Drug Store.

After high school she worked as a bank teller at Richfield Bank, and had a variety of other interesting jobs. She attended Riverland Community College in Austin MN, graduating in 1994 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in radiography (xray technology/radiological technology). In 1997 she graduated from Chippewa Valley Technical College Eau Claire, WI with an Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She started her clinical career working in Northfield, MN, and Dubuque Iowa. In 1999 she began working at Hennepin County Medical Center, and continued working in the Hennepin Health System through November, 2023.

Becky took her sonography work seriously, and committed herself to doing thorough and thoughtful examinations while extending kindness and empathy to her patients. She particularly enjoyed the happy moments in obstetric ultrasound when she could congratulate joyful new parents. Some of her favorite activities outside of work included: studying the Bible, cheering on Andrew’s sports endeavors, reading James Patterson novels, loving all things Disney and Marvel, and never missing a General Hospital episode. In her younger days she had fun driving her Chevy Camaro, and relished dressing well and keeping current with fashion trends. She was a shopper extraordinaire. Becky loved dogs and other animals (except creepy crawlies), candles, flowers, and soft stuffed animals. She was generous in gift-giving, and loved to gift others with
colorful bouquets of flowers.

Memorials preferred to KTIS Radio, Roseville MN.

Oh I am so sorry to hear about Becky’s passing. I went to High School with her and she was one of my first friends in a class where I knew no one. i was a transfer student in 11th grade and she was sweet enough to speak up and get to know me. It was so nice to see her kind familiar face each day.
I haven’t seen her since graduation, but wished we had stayed in touch.
May your family be blessed with the comfort of Gods arms surrounding you, the peace within your hearts that He provides and the support of loved ones to help bring up memories to keep her spirit alive within you.
    Gods love, Cathy (Brochu) Pearson

To the family of Becky, I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I worked with Becky at Hennepin County Medical Center in ultrasound for many years. She was always a kind person and spoke of Andrew many times. She was so proud of him. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. God bless you, Brenda Longmire

Andrew and family – I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with your mom at the clinic. I will miss her smile, her jokes and the occasional pranks she would pull on me. Your mom was so very proud of you ! She came to work, often times, not feeling very good. We helped each other out to get thru a shift. You don’t find many co-workers like your mom – and I’m really going to miss her. Know that your family and friends surround you now. Becky – fly high. There’s no tears past the gate. ❤️❤️
