Robert L. Kraus - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

April 15, 1926 - February 13, 2020


My Dad, Robert (Bob) Kraus passed away peacefully February 12, 2020. Born April 15, 1926, Bob was the youngest of three children born to Louis and Hazel Kraus in St. Paul, MN. He grew up in St. Paul, graduated from Johnson High School and enlisted in the US Navy in 1944, My Dad, Robert (Bob) Kraus passed away peacefully February 12, 2020.
serving aboard the USS Dobbin until the end of WWII.
He married Juanne Garrison in 1948 and settled in Richfield where they raised a daughter, Deborah, and four sons, Timothy, Paul, David and Erik. They enjoyed a busy life of raising their family and being active in their church, House of Prayer Lutheran, and in their community with Richfield Boy and Girl Scouts and Little League. They loved to fish, hunt and golf. Jo died tragically in an automobile accident in 1973, leaving Bob to raise the youngest boys.
He married Dorothy Bohn in 1975. Together, they loved camping, fishing, bowling and golf at Dahlgren Country Club. They loved the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Dorothy passed away in 2010. Bob remained in the same home from 1953 until just recently, when he moved to assisted living, first in Richfield, then Edina.
Bob is survived by daughter Deborah (Robert Molstad) Kraus of Woodbury, MN, sons Timothy (Kathy) of Holly Springs, NC, Paul of Crystal, MN, David (Leslyn) of Roseville, CA, and Erik of Brooklyn, NY, step-son Doug (Jan) Bohn of Brainerd, MN, stepdaughters Marilyn (Dr. Fred) Wilson of Oak Harbor, WA, and Kari (Rob) Griggs of Burnsville, MN, and 19 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
