Robert T. Rorem

Robert T. Rorem age 57 of Richfield, passed away March 15, 2017 from esophageal cancer.

Robert Thomas Rorem was born to Shirley and Ralph Rorem on April 17, 1959, and lived most of his life in Richfield MN. He had one sister, Sharon Rorem. Robert attended Richfield High School and after graduation had a number of jobs, but the one he got the most satisfaction from was his job working for Dave Shay of Shay Construction. It was hard work but Dave was a great employer. Bob worked out of the York Offices in Edina most of the time and got to know many of the people there. He would often talk about his day and what Debbie at York was doing, what was happening at Larsen Advertising, and who he would see at the York offices. The friends he made at the York offices were wonderful to him, checking in on him after they heard about his illness. He was very interested in music. He owned 4 electric guitars, 1 acoustic guitar, an amplifier, and a full drum set. He loved bands from the 70’s and 80’s and would often talk to me about them, telling stories about the Rolling Stones, Van Halen, and other bands of that era. Preceded in death by mother, Shirley A. Rorem; father, Ralph S. Rorem. Robert is survived by sister, Sharon Rorem of Richfield, aunt Elaine (Jack) LaLanne of Morro Bay California; aunt Lila (Richard) Olson of Foster City, CA; cousins Jon LaLanne, Daniel Doyle, Jerry Olson, Jill Olson, Jan Westphal, Jane Norell, Lynne Thorson, and Judy Rorem Christensen.
