Ruby Madsen (nee Benjamin), age 82 of Bloomington. Preceded in death by husband, Matthew Jr. Survived by children, Penny (Jim) Madvig, Tim (Dianne) Madsen, Paul (Beth) Madsen, Mary (Bob) Packer; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Benson, Rebecca (Jesh Dibbert) Madvig, Brandon and Laura Madsen, Kimberly (fiance, Matthew Schmidgall) , Neil, Matthew A. Madsen, and Tracey Packer; great-granddaughter, Sarah Dibbert; brothers, John (Arlys) Benjamin, Arthur (Linda) Benjamin; and sister, May (John) Williams.
Memorials preferred to Portland Avenue United Methodist Church.
Ruby was like a second mother to me as we were growing up. Rest in peace, Ruby.
Ruby and I shared our love of music in high school. My parents were Vineyard Methodist Church friends of the Benjamin family. I remember visiting the Benjamin home and especially playing piano duets with Ruby. Those memories have come back to me fondly over the years, even though I have not seen Ruby for a long time. You have my sincere sympathy in your loss of a beautiful family member.
