Ruth Luverne Cotterman

age 98, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 17, 2019 in her home with family members present that had been caring for her in the sunset of her life.

Preceded in death by husband, Lemuel “Bud” Cotterman; sons, Brian Cotterman, Douglas Cotterman and Larry Cotterman; grandson, Jim Cotterman; great-great-grandchild, Charlotte Cotterman; and sister, Virginia Porupsky.

Survived by daughters-in-law, Marion Cotterman, Connie Cotterman and Catherine Cotterman; grandchildren, Audrey (Beal) Angle, Paul (Tina) Cotterman, Melissa (Brent) Wissbrod, Scott (Janet) Cotterman, Matthew (Katy) Cotterman and Michael Cotterman; great-grandchildren, Dillon (Ellen) Cotterman, Everett Cotterman, Rachel (Evan) Knutson, Wendy Cotterman, Sawyer Cotterman, Jacob Wissbrod, Samuel Wissbrod, Sidney Wissbrod, Zachary Wissbrod, Edward Cotterman, Henry Cotterman; great-great-grandchild, Otto Knutson and one on the way from expecting parents Dillon (Ellen) Cotterman; sister, Jean Johnson; relatives and friends.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 19, 1921 to Ralph and Mattie Arms. Ruth was a bank teller in her early years up until she had started having children and became a stay at home mother. Ruth was a professional bargain shopper and would seek out deals wherever she went shopping. Ruth volunteered in the scouts while her children were in attendance. Ruth and Bud enjoyed taking day trips together around the state. Ruth was an active member with Bud in the church they attended, Richfield Lutheran Church for many years. Ruth enjoyed visits with her family and grandchildren over the years. Ruth and Bud were well respected members in their community among their neighbors.

The funeral service will be on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 10:30 am. The service will be at Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel located at 6527 Portland Avenue South, Richfield, MN 55423. There will be a visitation 1 hour prior to the funeral service. The interment will be on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11:30 am following the funeral service. The interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota. There will be a luncheon served at Richfield Lutheran Church following the interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Richfield Lutheran Church is located at 8 West 60th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55419.
