Age 91, of Minneapolis. Born in Barnsdall, OK on August 2, 1930 and died on July 4, 2022. Preceded in death by beloved husband, Merlin Zempel; granddaughter, Alisha; great-granddaughter, Nalia; and sister, Minnie Thompson. Survived by children, Rebecca Bogen, Brenda Zempel, Gregg Zempel and Jani (Wayne) Anderson; grandchildren, Aran (Tara), Tabitha, Priscilla (Mike), Andre (Rachael), Brandon, Cameron, Dana (Scott) and Grant (Emily); many great-grandchildren.
In remembrance, the family is requesting donations to the GoFundMe: “Shirley & Merlin Zempel State Fair Memorial” to honor them with a bench through the MN State Fair Foundation.
