Shirley Jane Sawyer, age 94, of Richfield. Preceded in death by husband of 53 years, William K. Sawyer; parents, Edward J. and Linda J. Johnson; brother, Waldo E. Johnson; and daughter, Barbara J. Reffitt; and great-grandson, Morgan. Survived by daughter, Sandra J. Sawyer; sons, James A. (Diane) Sawyer and William Y. Sawyer; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Eleanor; and other relatives and friends. Graduate of St. Barnabas School of Nursing, was a Cadet Nurse, then served in the Army Nurse Corps. Retired RN of the War Memorial Blood Bank. She enjoyed many handcrafts, sharing with family and friends until the onset of macular degeneration and glaucoma, which led to legal blindness.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family for distribution.
