Sr. Louise M. Bauer, age 70 of St. Paul, a Sister of the Living Word, died on July 3, 2013. Survived by siblings, Pat ( Kathleen ) Bauer, of Bend, OR; Roger ( Joyce ) Bauer, of New Ulm; Tom ( Sandy ) Bauer, of New Ulm; Diane ( Tom ) Portner, of New Ulm; Mary Ann ( John ) Mingo, of Prior Lake, MN; Jane Hoffman ( friend, Daniel Bauer ), of New Ulm; sister-in-law, Joyce Dauer, of New Ulm; many nieces and nephews and the Community of the Sisters of the Living Word. Preceded in death by parents, George and Louise Bauer and brother, Wally Bauer.

My heartfelt condolences to all. I remember when she took her final vows, one of which was of course, poverty. Part of the “uniform” was the ever present pocket watch that all the nuns wore back then. She asked your dad for one saying “it costs only one chinchilla pelt.” Although she moved away a long time ago, Goosetown population is down 1.
