Virginia married Clyde Thompson soon after graduating from high school, at which time Clyde was in the Air Force. They were Blessed with 3 children: Kevin, Tonya and Peter.

Virginia was a head majorette in the Minneapolis Aquatennial while in high school. She was passionate about and loved dancing. Following high school, she started a very successful dance studio, teaching tap and ballet to children.

Virginia and Clyde both loved flower gardening, and their gardens were featured in a local home and garden magazine, along with tours of their gardens. At an early age, Virginia accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was most passionate about studying the Bible, while she and Clyde participated in group Bible Study.
